Listing is for a Vintage 1970's era "Life Like Super CannonBall Express Santa Fe HO Electric Train Set". The Locomotive was never ran until I put it on my Workbench HO Test Track and applied power from a vintage Revell HO Transfromer.
The combo Headlight/Mars Light came on and the Locomotive operated in the forward and reverse directions. I only ran it approx. 15 seconds as it should be serviced and lubed after sitting approx. 50+ years in a box in someone's attic or basement. Only the A Unit is powered.
All of the Cars and the Locomotive A and B Units are all in their crisp, original, component Boxes (see photos). There is a Life Like Trains HO Power Pack included and HO Track that is still "Hermetically Sealed" in plastic inside the Original Set Box. Although a bit dirty on the outside of the seal, the Seal is still intact. This is a complete Set "EXCEPT" It appears that over the Years Someone Has "REMOVED" the (4) Straight Sections of HO Track That were Included as came from Life-Like some 50+ years ago.
Other than the Straight Track Sections, Nothing else obvious is missing that I can see. All the component Boxes are clean, intact, and, except for the Santa-Fe Powered A Unit Box that I opened to test the Locomotive, are still unopened.
The Set Box is "complete" and the Lower section of the Box is still sturdy and holds all the component Boxes securely. The Set Box Lid, or Top, is "all there" and still shows bright colors, but is in "Poor, Repaired" condition. The Corners have all been "taped" on the inside of the (4) corners to reinforce them and the clear plastic window that shows all the Set components has been "re-attached" to the Top (Lid) with clear Tape... But, It's all there..
Some random tears and rips in the Box top have all been repaired with tape. The Top "DOES" still go on the Set Box Bottom and does still "Display" the HO Train Set Contents as intended. Most Vintage Train Sets, no matter what Gauge, still have "Original Boxes" still able to display the Set Contents.. This Vintage HO Life Like Train Set is a true Find, with "all" it's Set Components in their original Boxes.
I have listed the Condition of this Set as "New" because the Trains contained therein are in New/unused Condition. The Set Box is "NOT NEW" and reflects 50+ Years of Storage and moving.
