Train works on AC or DC transformers. The train is a 4-4-2 wheel configuration. I have ran the train several times.

The light comes on and I have put mineral oil in the smoke stack, it does produce smoke. It is considered a modern model and uses a circuit board for it's controls. It is a great steamer.
