Hornby Dublo 2050 Suburban Electric Train Set - this 2 rail set features the 2250 Suburban Electric Motor Coach and accompanying 4150 Suburban Electric Driving Trailer together with an oval of 2-rail track. The train vehicles are numbered as Southern Region vehicles but Hornby-Dublo actually modelled the unit on the British Rail Class 501 Euston-Watford and North London Line EMU vehicles.

The motor coach is in full working order, it would probably benefit from a service if you plan on using it regularly. Both vehicles are complete and all original with no missing or replica parts and in very good used order - the roofs have some browning as is common with age; sides are good with just minor patina and some very slight corrosion which has not broken through, spread or discoloured the tinplate finish. There are 12 track pieces including the power track to make a full circle; as is usual with the fragile polystyrene base some of the end chairs have broken and the track shows wear at the holes suggesting that it has in the past been nailed to a board. The box base is solid, the four inserts are present but one of the two packing liners for the coaches is a reproduction.

The lid is split all or partially at all 4 corners but the sides are well attached. There is storage wear to the outer box but it is still presentable. All told, this is a used but sound and working set, still one of the most attractive and desireable Hornby Dublo items. Will be well packed and sent quickly - see my feedback!
