Fleischmann HO Passenger Train Set #1000/2 Untested 4.5V Battery To Run c. 1950's

  
Here's a Fleischmann HO Passenger Train Set in its original box including tracks and other accessories as pictured. The set was manufactured in the US Zone, Germany circa 1954. This set is designed to operate using a 4.5V battery pack. You should know that this set has not been tested and is being offered for sale in "As Is" condition with no guarantee that it will run as designed with battery power. The Philips superplus battery in this sale may be old and non-functioning due to its age. It was with the set when I acquired it a few years ago. The black locomotive engine's body cover is made from hard plastic which appears to have a slight warp in the middle area. Both sides of the engine's cab are stamped with the numbers 1305 & 1954. I assume the #1305 is the engine's model number while the #1954 refers to the manufactured year. The all metal mechanical parts making up the engine look very clean. The red spoke metal engine wheels turn smoothly and function as design. Overall the locomotive engine appears to be in very good used condition and measures approximately 5 in length. The coal tender and the two passenger cars are metal with plastic parts.

Their wheels are plastic and all roll freely and function as designed. The coal tender measures approximately 2 ½ long and is in very good condition.

Each passenger car measures about 5 long and both are in very good condition. All the train cars are signed "Fleishmann" made in US Zone Germany.

The railroad bed pieces have hard plastic bases with metal tracks. The power switch and signal pole switch are also metal. I DO MY VERY BEST TO DESCRIBE THE ITEM OR ITEMS IN MY SALE.
